During that process, he would go on to master music engineering, launch a clothing line and merchandise, and self-record most of his releases. The multi-talented individual never fails to impress.
Interview
What’s your creative process like?
“I first find a beat, then I write,” he describes. “To get more in depth, I center my energy, get into a vibe as I surf through beats, and once I find a beat, I figure out how to approach it.”
Tell us about your most recent release.
“My latest release “Hussle” is a track I wanted to put out to motivate and inspire people to “get it”. It was one of the earlier songs I did with my producer, Mike D Exclusive. It is a goal motivator song. For the video I took the approach of “Don’t be a menace….” playing out 3 scenes from the movie.”
You have a unique stage name. How did you get that name?
“Ku-Laid Thee Entertainer came from my childhood nickname which was just “koo-laid”. I got that name as a kid. My mom would lock me outside and forced me to make friends. I would always have a big red cup filled with Kool-aid and the kids would just get on me and talk shit. Some claimed they could make better kool-aid than me and we had a competition. I clearly won, so they stuck me with the name. So as I got older people always would say I was cool and laid back so when I started doing music, I just change the spelling and added “Thee Entertainer ” and ran with it”.
