My name is K.Shy and I rep Covington, Georgia.

Tell us about your latest releases, what inspired you to create them?

My latest release is titled “Pain Child” and what inspired me was my inconsistency is dropping music and that I never gave my fans a chance to get to know the obstacles I’ve overcame in life.

What is unique about you and your music?

I love the fact that I don’t sound like anyone in my city, my creative flow is unmatched, & that my music is authentic/relatable.

What shaped your music?

My life experiences & the fact that I didn’t let them break me shaped my music.

When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?

I realized it 2 years ago when I was invited to a showcase & everyone received great feedback but it was something specifically about me that everyone loved, that was when it hit me that I could really make something out of putting my music out into the world.

What type of music do you listen to?

I listen to all genres but my absolute favorite is the David Ruffin era. I feel like old school music stimulates my mind.

What inspires you to write music?

My mom inspired me because she told me I needed to find a different outlet other than fighting & running the streets. She’s the main reason that I go as hard as I do.

What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?

I work out frequently & invest in stocks/do research on the stock market. I’m also very passionate about having family time, family means everything to me.

Happiness to you is…

Making music & financial freedom. Whenever I’m in the studio & I hear a beat I just feel free & unjudged, it’s like time freezes for a moment & I’m at peace.

What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help artists just starting out?

I wish I was told that just because you’re just starting out that that doesn’t mean the sound quality of your music should be bare minimum, put time & effort into your craft because the work that you put out is your masterpiece.

My next project is me putting visuals out to my songs that I’ve released to help create more buzz & a better understanding of my life through my music.

Do what you love & do it to the best of your ability, no matter how much time you have to put in or how much money you have to spend. Nothing comes easy.
