Connie Roses shares powerful single “The City”

Pittsburgh’s Connie Roses has shared a new single called “The City”. It follows up his last EP There’s a Light Inside the Tunnel, Come and Grab My Hand, and finds him delivering hard-hitting vocals atop invigorating production, making for an offering that is bursting with energy.

From the get-go, one can tell that Roses is not an artist who is willing to play by the rules. With abstract production and flows that cannot be restricted to one simple pattern, “The City” paints a kaleidoscopic sonic picture. Psychedelic and heavy, “The City” draws influences from punk, hip-hop, and rock, making for an eclectic listen. Roses himself delivers vocals that are difficult to predict, as he weaves together shouting, punk-influenced vocals with raw hip-hop verses. Lyrically, “The City” details Roses’ story and relationship with the music scene in his hometown of Pittsburgh, PA.

The latest from Pittsburgh’s Connie Roses, “The City” finds him delivering a refreshing offering that blurs the line between a variety of genres and contains powerful, gripping sonics.
